George A. Otstott

George A. Otstott is a partner in Demler’s San Francisco office. For 30 years he has represented individuals, companies and public entities in civil defense litigation and coverage work. Mr. Otstott typically handles catastrophic personal injury cases including traumatic brain injuries, neurostimulator implant cases, amputations and other lifelong care accidents, and property claims such as landslides and business losses, and public entity cases involving civil actions, CPRA responses, including Fire Districts, inverse condemnation claims, and various complex products and premises liability claims. He also represents general contractors, sub-contractors and manufacturers in construction defect, delay, and personal injury/death cases, as well as auto, motorcycle and trucking clients. He worked in asbestos defense for years and also defended doctors, nurses and facilities in medical malpractice and Elder Abuse lawsuits.

Mr. Otstott defends clients throughout litigation, binding arbitration, trial and appeal, and has argued before the CA Court of Appeal. He is extensively involved in all aspects of expert evaluation, interviews, retention and preparation. He is privileged to be the Editor-in-Chief of the Defense Comment Magazine for the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada.

Mr. Otstott lives in San Francisco with his wife Carla and enjoys SCUBA and riding his Yamaha R6 at Sonoma Raceway, Thunderhill Raceway and Laguna Seca.

Presented courses and lectures for attorneys and claims professionals in the areas of construction defect, accident and indemnity claims as well as auto cases and general property/casualty matters for continuing education for various providers in California and Florida.
